Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Technical Architect (MOM/SCOM) for a 2 year contract position, with 3 additional 1 year contract periods.

All candidates must possess Secret Clearance.

Client requires Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) and Microsoft Operation Management/Sysytem Center Operations (MOM/SCOM) engineering expertise to provide technical support in the design, implementation and integration of the SMS and MOM/SCOM systems. The enterprise architecture of SMS and MOM/SCOM necessitates strong technical expertise at the enterprise level. The work involves system architecture, system management, system configuration, testing, training, performance tuning and integration and deployment.

The contractor must provide professional services with the expertise in MOM/SCOM engineering to plan, design and implement the enterprise server management and operation management systems.

Other Requirements:
-University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any other field, with a minimum of five years experience within the last 10 years working as a system architect on IT infrastructure projects. OR College Diploma (two to three year program) in Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Technology or Computer Science or any other field, with a minimum of seven years experience withing the last 10 years, working as a system architect involving IT infrastructure in large IT environment projects. -Experience with other event alerting and monitoring solutions, for example HP insight Manager, IBM Director, Dell Open Manage, IBM TANDEM, others. -Experience developing Impact Analysis, Security Risk Assessment and Threat Risk Assessment. -Experience with Architecting and designing MOM/SCOM solutions as well as experience with implementing and deploying SMS systems.

The ideal candidate will have::

senior level experience delivering IT infrastructure solutions. Experience acquired must include the following: requirement definition, proof of concept, pilot implementation, full roll out, troubleshooting, documentation, training, upgrading performance tuning, deployment and transition. Min.10yrs

experience in delivering large scale enterprise operation monitoring solutions using the Microsoft Operations Managaer as well as delivering system deployments and migration projects for large scale networks. Min. 4 years, within last 8 years.

experience in the architecture, planning, design, and implementation of the Microsoft Operations Manager solutions within an integrated environment of Server technologies. Min. 4 years within the last 8 years.

experience in network management, disaster recovery management, group policies and security technologies. Min. 4 years within the last 8 years

experience in database systems and Query languages with strong emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server, SMS database structure, Extended Markup Language (XML) and Scripting languages. Min. 4 years in the last 8 years

experience developing business, functional, and technical requirements in large IT infrastructure, a min. of 10, 000 desktops in a min. 3 locations.

experience with Server Virtualization products such as VM Ware, and Microsoft Virtual Servers

experience developing test procedures, test plans and test cases for a large scale system (a min. of 10, 000 desktops or 1,000 servers in a min. 3 locations)

experience designing training plans and developing training manuals at the technical, administrator, operator and user level

experience developing standard operation procedures for server management and monitoring systems.
